This Plug In Module (PIM) generates a calibration strip that can be used in the calibration of the "Transfer" function within "Page Setup" in Photoshop. It generates all the control points for the transfer curve; 0%, 5%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, 95% and 100%. Each block is a 1/4" although you can scale the entire strip with the "Image Size" Dialog. The calibration strip is generated as a portrait, but you can rotate it as you need to.
I use this strip to calibrate my system from the computer to the press. The 5% and 95% allow you to ensure that you didn't lose your highlight dots or that your shadow dots aren't plugged. The 50% point allow you to check the dot gain of the system.
I've thought of adding a dot gain text field so that you could print a compensated calibration strip. This would also include highlight and shadow limits as well.
